Raw, Thomas 1840

I Thomas Raw of Crackpot Hall in the Parish of Grinton and North Riding of the county of York farmer, being in a weak
state of body but of perfect mind, memory and understanding for which to Almighty God I am truly thankful do by this my last will and testament give and bequeath of my worldly goods in the following manner viz First I give and bequeath to my son Robert Raw the whole of my stock of cattle of every description wherever situate also my husbandry gear, farming & dairy utensils, also my household furniture, beds & bedding save and except a chest of drawers which said chest of drawers I give and bequeath to my daughter Peggy Raw Second I do hereby nominate my said son Robert Raw sole executor to this my will and I do likewise further add that after my said executor has paid my just debts, funeral expences and the expence incurred in proving my will then whatever money may remain in hand I give and bequeath to my aforesaid son and executor Robert Raw. But provided there should not be sufficient for that purpose then in that case my executor to make up the same out of the bequest already bequeathed to him. And I do hereby revoke and disannul any will by me previously made or executors appointed confirming this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this ninth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and forty.
