Cockbone, John 1831*

I John Cockbone of Bainbridge in the parish of Aysgarth in the County of York corn miller do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say, first I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Metcalfe wife of Richard Metcalfe the annuity or clear yearly sum of five pounds during the term of her natural life to be paid to her by two equal half yearly payments on the twelfth day of May and the twenty third day of November in each year… …in case my said daughter Elizabeth Metcalfe should happen to die leaving lawful issue her surviving I give and bequeath to such issue the legacy or sum of one hundred pounds to be paid to them equally … …to son Richard, all estate lands and tenements situate at Apperside until my son John Cockbone shall have attained his age of twenty one years subject nevertheless in the meantime to the maintenance educating and clothing my my two sons Thomas Cockbone and John Cockbone…and after he attains twenty one…devise and bequeath all my estate lands and tenements at Appersett to my said two sons Thomas Cockbone and John Cockbone…subject to the legacy of one hundred pounds to daughter Elizabeth Metcalfe …all my messuages lands tenements hereditaments and premises situate at Bainbridge Hawes and low Abbotside or elsewhere in the said County of York and all other my real estate and also all my personal estate …to son Richard Cockbone
