In the name of God Amen I Robert Raw of Carperby<\/strong> in the parish of Aisgarth in the County of York
Yeoman being of sound mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and
testament in manner following that is to say I give devise and bequeath unto my son Robert Raw<\/a><\/strong> All
that messuage Tenement of dwelling house wherein the said Robert doth now dwell with the garth
garden buildings and appurtenances thereunto adjoining and belonging together with all that close or
parcel of ground commonly called Tb Croft or East Croft containing by estimation one acre be the
same more or less situate within the Township of Carperby aforesaid and lately purchased by me of
James Shaw<\/strong>. To Hold the same unto my said son Robert Raw his Heirs and Assigns for ever I also
give devise and bequeath unto my son William Raw<\/strong> All that messuage tenement or dwelling House
wherein I now dwell (except the parlour therein which i do hereby devise & give to my three
daughters Ann Hannah and Jane Raw<\/strong> whilst they or any of them shall remain unmarried but not
otherwise) with the Garth Garden Buildings and appurtenances thereunto adjoining and belonging
together with All that allotment on Carperby Moor containing by estimation eight acres be the same
more or less To Hold the same to my said son William Raw his heirs and Assigns for ever. I do give
and devise and bequeath All that Close or parcel of ground commonly called the Snab containing by
estimation Six Acres be the same more or less situate within the Township of Carperby aforesaid now
in my own Occupation unto my dear Wife Jane Raw<\/strong> for and during the Term of her natural Life and
from and immediately after her decease then I give and devise the said close or parcel of ground to my
said son Robert and William Raw their Heirs ad Assigns for ever to take as tenements in common and
not as joint tenants charged and chargeable nevertheless with the payment of the sum of One hundred
and twenty pounds apiece to my sons Joseph Raw<\/strong> and John Raw<\/strong> and also with the payment of the
sum of Ninety pounds apiece unto my three daughters Ann Raw Hannah Raw and Jane Raw All
which said Legacies or sums of Money it is my Will and mind shall be paid to them their executors
Administrators or Assigns respectively within twelve calendar months next after my wifes decease but
in case any person shall have to pay to John Drummond<\/strong> the sum of sixty pounds to whom I am bound
in a Bond to pay that sum in case my son Joseph Raw doth not duly serve his apprenticeship with the
said John Drummond then and in that case the said Joseph to be paid only the sum of sixty pounds. I
give and bequeath unto my two sons Nathan Raw<\/strong> and James Raw<\/strong> the sum of two Hundred pounds
equally between them to be paid to them the said Nathan and James respectively their respective
executors Administrators or Assigns within twelve calendar months next after my decease. I also give
and bequeath to All my Household goods and household furniture unto my said dear wife Jane for and
during her natural life and from and after her decease then I give and bequeath the same unto my said
three daughters Ann Hannah and Jane in equall shares and proportions. I also give and bequeath unto
my dear wife Jane Raw All my stock of cattle beasts sheep horses Hay Straw Corn Husbandry Geer
Goods Chattles Effects and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever To Hold to my said dear
wife Jane her executors Administrators and Assigns absolutely for ever charged and chargeable
nevertheless with the payment of all my just debts funeral expences and the Charges of proving and
registering this my Will and also with the payment of the sum of Ten pounds to my Grandson Nathan
Raw<\/strong> the son of my daughter Hannah Raw when he shall attain the age of Twenty one years but it case
he shall not have attained the said age at my wife\u2019s decease then I direct the same to be placed out at
Interest by my said son Robert Raw for the use of him the said Nathan upon good security And lastly
I do nominate constitute and appoint my said Wife Jane Raw sole executrix of this my last will and
testament and hereby revoking all former Wills by me made I publish and declare the Instrument or
writing contained in two sheets of paper the first sheet whereof is signed with my Name and the last
sheet whereof is signed with my name and sealed with my seal to be my last Will and Testament this
Twenty first day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fourteen.
